Duya Life
A life simulation game played in the browser. Each life starts with a family, a home and a country, then grows year by year through school, money and relationships.
The job it does
A life simulation that is quick to play on a phone, set in real countries with their own schools, exams, money and work rules, and that keeps your progress on your own device.
What was built
A year-by-year game engine in plain TypeScript, saves in the browser with versioned migrations and backup export, and six playable countries, each with its own stages, exams, currency and places.
Works today
- Start a life in Uganda, India, the United Kingdom, the United States, Brazil or Australia
- Family, home, school, money and relationships, played one year at a time
- Progress saves on your device, with backup export and import
- Plays in a phone or desktop browser
Limits
- A prototype: features and balance are still changing
- Country rules are simplified, and some countries model one region only
- English only
- Saves stay in one browser unless you export a backup
